The Autonomous University of Madrid hosted the 43rd Congress of the Spanish Society of Pharmacology, which took place at the Madrid Official College of Physicians (ICOMEM) from 2 to 4 September 2026.

Awards for the Best Communications at the 43rd National Meeting of the Spanish Society of Pharmacology

During the 43rd National Meeting of the Spanish Society of Pharmacology, the awards for the two best communications, organised by the Organising Committee, were announced.

The Organising Committee evaluated the poster presentations and awarded prizes to the following:

• Eduardo Oliver, who presented the poster entitled “New SGK1 inhibitors alleviates pulmonary arterial hypertension and vascular remodeling in a mice model”.

• Elena Tortosa, who presented the poster entitled “STMN2 loss induces cholesterol dysregulation in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis”.

The first author of each award-winning communication will receive free registration for the Society’s next National Congress, to be held in Málaga.

It is a pleasure to invite you to the XLIII Annual Meeting of the Spanish Society of Pharmacology, which will take place from September 2nd to 4th, 2026, at Ilustre Colegio Oficial de Médicos de Madrid (ICOMEM), in Madrid, Spain.

As in previous editions, the meeting is expected to bring together a large number of pharmacologists, along with scientists and professionals from related disciplines such as medicine, pharmacy, biomedical sciences and chemistry.

We are currently preparing a diverse and engaging scientific program that will cover cutting-edge topics in pharmacology and therapeutics, featuring renowned keynote speakers, insightful panel discussions, and innovative research presentations, including symposia, oral presentations, and poster sessions.

Recognizing that the future of science depends on the next generation of researchers, this year’s conference will place a special emphasis on supporting early-career scientists. In order to encourage their participation through short research presentations, grants will be offered to help cover their expenses to attend the meeting.

The vibrant city of Madrid will provide an outstanding backdrop for this event. Its unique combination of historical heritage, cultural vitality, and modern infrastructure makes it an ideal place to host scientific exchange while also offering numerous opportunities for social interaction and networking.
